Northside Theatrical Conservatory (NTC) was founded by Bishop Horace Hockett in 2017 with Crystal Joy spearheading the process. NTC’s mission is to provide a safe environment of belonging for children to discover and develop their gifts and talents while helping them cultivate character, and artistic excellence.

After extensive research, Ms. Joy launched NTC in the summer of 2018 as a one-week pilot program in the community. Because of its strong success, NTC expanded in 2019 into a full-summer, four-subject arts program. That momentum led to plans to integrate NTC into Born Again Christian Academy, offering arts instruction to second- through fourth-grade students during the 2020 fall term and summer session.

 

However, the unexpected COVID-19 shutdown in 2020 placed those plans on hold. In 2021, with the support of talented staff and volunteers, we gradually resumed through informal teaching sessions and internships, training BAC members and non-members during campus events, services, and community opportunities as requested until the official school is completed. Plans are now underway to relaunch NTC Summer Classes next summer.
