Northside Theatrical Conservatory (NTC) was founded by Bishop Horace Hockett in 2017 with Crystal Joy spearheading the process. NTC’s mission is to provide a place of belonging for children to discover and develop their gifts and talents while helping them cultivate character, and artistic excellence in a safe environment.

After some extensive research, Ms. Joy, started the summer NTC in 2018 as a one-week test pilot in the community. Due to its overwhelming success, NTC planned and implemented a full-summer four-subject of the arts school in 2019. Due to its success, the decision was made to incorporate NTC with the current Born Again Christian Academy, teaching the arts to 2nd through 4th graders, fall of 2020 as well as the summer. Unfortunately, due to the unexpected COVID shutdown of 2020, our plans were put on hold. Fortunately, due to a variety of talented staff and volunteers, 2021, we gradually began informal teaching sessions and internships, while training members of BAC and non-members when we process events and service on campus, and where requested in the community until the official school is complete. Plans are in the making for NTC Summer Classes for the relaunch, 2026.
